Not long ago we covered the Venezuela , which claimed to be under cyber attacks hitting thier critical infrastructure, mainly the electric grid, causing a blackout lasted for days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

every week since the incident, officials from the government goes and blame different nation and different people, in the latest development, Venezuela\u2019s President Nicolas Maduro said that his country\u2019s power grid has been suffering outages due to cyber attacks from Colombia and Chile with the aid of the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thats while earlier the Venezuela government claimed the cyber attack originated from the USA, specifically from Chicago and Houston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time the government arrested 5 citizens blaming them for the incident and looking for 15 more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most security experts still estimates that the blackout happened because of lack of maintenance and not a cyber attack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the last decade the government replaced professional civilians with military people to do the maintenance in order to cut the costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some undisclosed goverment sources started to provide more details about what happened in the dam, but since there is no way to authenticate the sources or the facts we will keep waiting untill more verified sources will share details about this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verint US Based company with offices in Israel was founded in 1999 and sell different cyber intelligence services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verint went to the headlines while ago when they tried to aquire the offensive cyber security firm called NSO group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During April, a screenshot taken from one of the company\u2019s computers showed emergency warning asking to contact IT support if they see a ransomware popups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verint provides wide range of services related to cyber security and they got hit by a ransomware, the company that wants clients to trust them for providing data intelligence got attacked successfully, maybe its time that security companies will start securing themselves before trying to sell security services to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

verint confirmed and said “The company’s defense system identified the attack immediately after it began”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
